Sure, I post alot of links without much content, And yes, I've inserted my initials in as many things as possible and done some coding and photoshop magic. I know there aren't many comments here because I am an awful writer; I dont want to seem to be riding any coat tails and certainly won't become famous from what I do here.
But I can learn something new every day and I can share it with (all 11) of my readers. I'll note it in either my bookmarks or link rolls which show up in the sidebar on the front page, or I'll create a blog post about it, giving the original link more relevance. I'll use those links later to go back and reflect on what I've learned.
(Behind the scenes I'm thinking about why Blogger won't create outgoing trackbacks and am going to test the Wizbang® Tech Trackback Pinger with this post full of links I've noted previously. I want to see how different blogging systems react to the pinger, and I'll share my findings if they seem conclusive. I mention this now because sometimes a reader might not know all the reasoning behind a certain post or link.)
So I contend that I am NOT an Ego Blogger in the Lazysphere at all, just an active participant in my own Personal Learning Environment. Booyah!

I resemble that comment!
Having just started my own blog for the purpose of reflection, synthesis, and (hopefully) community input to boost my own understanding and skill, I am struggling with the writing process, my chronic disappointment in the end product (after a whole 3 posts), and my fear that it will be seen as just a marketing tool.
However, writers write. As we continue, it will improve... Yes. It. Will.
Keep on keepin' on, Sister. I am one of the 11 that subscribes to the feed.
I hit cancel and go back alot. And edit...obsessively. There are so many fabulous writers out there, I'm easily intimidated.
Thank you, Mary, and I really like your blog. It seems like we're copasetic. :)
You're famous enough! And that obsessive writing is exactly the kind of behavior to cultivate.
Active participants in ones' own Personal Environment - that is one of the better descriptions for bloggers that I have come across.
Tongue-in-cheek read as well.

Oooh, maybe I am an Ego Blogger because now mine feels really good.
Karen: I'm cultivating! I promise I won't hit the cancel button this time.
Pramit: I really think that alot of people blog to satisfy their own personal learning needs. I've got no problem with being a caricuture for that. ;)
I just stumbled upon this post and love it! I too am trying not to be bogged down with rules and how-to's :-) Call me what you will, but I just want to write and write what I WANT TO! I just posted on this a few days ago, actually! Seems I should have read your post first :-) I just added you to my google reader.........
Thanks Kate! It does seem like we're getting into a groove with blogging, each in our own style. That's gotta be good, right?
Found my way here from the AL. I totally dig your color scheme!
For that alone, I will subscribe!
A big part of what I learn here is behind the scenes, I appreciate your comment, anon!
The "lazysphere," that's a new one - I feel your sentiment. The only people who read my blogs are family, but I don't mind. Personal journalism is how "blogging" began, isn't it?
